Camelot Academy

 

It has been Camelot’s privilege since 2004 to manage an alternative education program on behalf of the School District of Philadelphia. The Camelot Academy , which serves approximately 400 students in grades 5-12 (ages 10-21), is classified as a transitional program and is reserved for students who have violated District conduct standards, which as caused their placement in our program. Camelot Academy provides a safe, secure school setting environment that promotes learning and numerous programs tailored to the individual student.

Special needs students served at the school include those with social/emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, developmental delay, hearing impairment, and limited English proficiency.

Program Goals

1. To increase student academic achievement
2. To raise student attendance
3. To create and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment
4. To prepare students to meet state and District graduation requirements
5. To provide students with the necessary skills to enroll in a post secondary institution, certification program, or trade school and/or obtain gainful, self-sufficient employment
6. To prepare students for successful re-entry and assimilation into a District regular education program, where appropriate
