Thank you for visiting the Camelot website. The message that we hope to convey throughout the site is that Camelot produces extraordinary results for extraordinary students. We do that through our structure, academic expertise and a team of professionals who care passionately about our students achieving their potential.
Camelot has evolved over our 40-year history. We’ve always provided a caring environment for students unable to succeed in main stream schools, but the Camelot you see today really emerged in 2004. That year we began managing our first alternative education program for the School District of Philadelphia. That program, used by the district for disciplinary removals, had a long and notorious history as an "out of control" and dangerous school. Today, that school reflects a best practice alternative disciplinary program that is a model for what Camelot can do with historically hard to educate students.
That same year, Camelot was selected by the District as the first organization to implement what has become a highly successful, first-of-its-kind accelerated high school model. Our two accelerated schools in Philadelphia now boast a 95% graduation rate with most graduates advancing to post-secondary education. Keep in mind these are students who had either dropped out or fallen years behind in their studies.
Camelot’s therapeutic day schools are generally recognized by our regulators, customers, and parents as state of the art programs serving a spectrum of special education students with significant emotional disorders and other health impairments, including children on the autism spectrum.
We have been recognized by Mathematica Policy Research and Jobs for the Future as leaders in turning around "second chance" students. It fills us with tremendous satisfaction to see these students succeed.
It also explains why we have quickly grown to operate 20 separate programs in four states, both for school districts and charter organizations. When districts and charter administrators look at our performance and cost structure - whether for our disciplinary, accelerated or therapeutic day program - they choose us. Our plans call for exponential growth as more and more districts and charters turn to us to educate their most challenging students.
Welcome to Camelot. We appreciate your interest in us.
Very truly yours
Todd Bock, CEO
